Engineered for System Builders: V2 Elite Tech
Premium communication, sealed IP67 construction, heating, and battery intelligence.
Native Victron & CANbus Integration
Built-in CAN communication at 500 kbit/s supports compatible Victron Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX and other GX devices. The battery reports its status and charge limits, and with DVCC on it sets the charge voltage and current limits of Victron chargers.
IP67 Dust-Tight & Immersion Rating
Unlike indoor-only 48V server rack batteries, this battery has an IP67 enclosure: dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in up to 1 m of water for 30 minutes. It is not rated for water jets, pressure washing or continuous submersion, so in RV bays, marine compartments, outdoor enclosures, and off-grid locations install it upright and secured against vibration, where it stays dry in normal use, with all harness connectors fully seated.
Smart Internal Heating Down to -22°F
LiFePO4 cells must not be charged below 0°C (32°F). When a charge source is connected and the cells are too cold, the BMS holds off normal charging while the internal heater, powered by the charge source, warms the cells; charging resumes once they reach 5°C (41°F). With self-heating, charging is supported from -22°F / -30°C ambient, and discharge is available down to -4°F / -20°C without heating.
Real-Time Bluetooth App Monitoring
Bluetooth 4.0 through the included battery gauge connects to the Epoch Li-Ion app (iOS and Android) for state of charge, voltage, current, cell voltages, temperatures, history and warnings, and installs firmware updates over the air. With several batteries, the parallel view shows the whole bank.

IP67 enclosure protection
Dust-tight, immersion-rated, and installed where it stays dry.
The IP67 enclosure is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in up to 1 m of water for 30 minutes (IEC 60529), making it far more flexible than indoor-only server rack designs. It is not rated for water jets, pressure washing or continuous submersion: secure the battery upright, keep it where it stays dry in normal use, protect wiring and ports, keep all harness connectors fully seated, and follow best practices for marine, RV, and outdoor electrical systems.
Victron and charger setup matters
Use CANbus communication and proper 48V LiFePO4 settings.
For Victron systems, set the DIP switches, plug the communication harness’s grey RJ45 plug into the GX device’s BMS-CAN port (VE.Can 1 or 2 at 500 kbit/s on a Cerbo GX Mk2), confirm the Epoch battery appears on the device list, turn DVCC on, and set Epoch as the controlling BMS and the battery monitor. Program every charge source, Victron included, to the recommended 56.8V absorption, 54.0V float and 53.2V re-bulk values so charging stays correct if CAN communication is lost; for non-Victron systems, use a 48V LiFePO4-compatible charger or inverter charger set to the same values.
Fitment and installation note
Verify your complete 48V system before installation.
Always confirm space (20.86 × 8.65 × 12.06 in; when replacing a Group 8D lead-acid battery, check tray fit, hold-down and lid clearance), mounting, cable clearance, terminal access, charger compatibility, inverter surge requirements, communication harnessing, fuse/breaker sizing (a DC-rated fuse or breaker close to the battery positive; the internal 270A fuse does not replace it), and local electrical standards before installation. Use matched batteries of the same model, age, capacity, and state of charge for parallel banks, and follow Epoch’s manual for DIP switch and communication setup.
Epoch 48V 100Ah V2 Elite Battery FAQs
Common questions about Victron integration, IP67 protection, inverter sizing, parallel expansion, heating, and 48V system compatibility.
Is this 48V battery compatible with Victron Energy equipment?
Yes. The Epoch 48V 100Ah V2 Elite communicates over CAN bus at 500 kbit/s with compatible Victron GX devices, including Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX and Cerbo GX Mk2 installations. The included communication harness has a grey RJ45 plug for the GX device’s BMS-CAN port; on a Cerbo GX Mk2, use VE.Can 1 or VE.Can 2 and set the port speed to 500 kbit/s. Set the DIP switches on every battery, then turn on DVCC and set the controlling BMS and the battery monitor to Epoch: the battery then reports its status and sets the charge voltage and current limits of Victron chargers.
How does this differ from a standard 48V server rack battery?
Most 48V server rack batteries are designed for dry, climate-controlled indoor environments. The Epoch V2 Elite is built for mobile and harsh environments with an IP67 dust-tight, immersion-rated enclosure, internal self-heating, Bluetooth monitoring, Victron CAN communication, and a rugged 20.86 × 8.65 × 12.06 in case for RV, marine, and off-grid systems.
What size inverter can a single 48V 100Ah battery power?
A single Epoch 48V 100Ah battery stores 5.12kWh and is rated for 150A continuous discharge, about 7,680W DC at 51.2V before inverter losses, but only for up to 20 minutes at 150A and not for cycling; 300A is allowed for 30 seconds for surges. The DC input current is roughly the AC load divided by (battery voltage × inverter efficiency): a 2,000W load through an inverter assumed to be 90% efficient draws about 2,000 ÷ (51.2 × 0.90) ≈ 43A. If the inverter’s continuous DC input can exceed 150A, add batteries in parallel so the current per battery stays within the rating, and size cables, fusing and the disconnect for the maximum system current.
Can I connect multiple 48V 100Ah batteries together?
Yes. This model supports up to 16 batteries in parallel, allowing system builders to scale from one 5.12kWh battery up to a 1,600Ah / 81.92kWh 48V power bank. Use matched C48100A batteries of the same age, capacity, and state of charge, and set the DIP switches for the bank. This is a native 48V battery and should not be wired in series to create higher voltages.
Will the internal heating drain my battery if I am off-grid?
No. The internal heater is powered by the charge source: when a charger is connected and the cells are below 0°C (32°F), the BMS holds off normal charging while the heater warms the cells, then resumes charging when they reach 5°C (41°F). It does not use stored battery capacity to keep itself warm while sitting or discharging. With self-heating, charging is supported from -22°F / -30°C ambient.
Can I use this battery in a 48V golf cart or electric marine outboard?
It can be an excellent upgrade for compatible 48V vehicles, golf carts, and electric marine propulsion systems, but compatibility must be confirmed first. Verify controller voltage, peak current (the battery allows 300A for 30 seconds), continuous current (150A for up to 20 minutes, 100A continuous charge), charger profile, physical fitment, terminal access, and manufacturer guidance before installation.
Is this battery waterproof?
It is IP67 rated, meaning it is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in up to 1 m of water for 30 minutes. It is not rated for water jets, pressure washing or continuous submersion: install it where it stays dry in normal use, with all harness connectors fully seated, and do not treat it as submersible equipment or install it with damaged seals or open ports.
Does the Epoch Li-Ion app show all batteries in a large bank?
Yes. The Epoch Li-Ion app (iOS and Android), reached over Bluetooth 4.0 through the included battery gauge, shows state of charge, total voltage, total current and total capacity for the bank in its parallel view, and voltage, current, power, remaining capacity and warnings for each battery. Each battery appears as C48100A_ followed by its serial number; the Cells, History and Battery events screens add cell voltages, cell balance, temperatures and BMS events, and the About page installs firmware updates over the air.
