The Perfect Drop-In Upgrade: Core Features

A practical 12V lithium upgrade for RV, marine, and off-grid owners who want less weight, less maintenance, and better usable energy.

True Group 24 Sizing

This Group 24 drop-in measures 10¼ in L × 6¾ in W × 9 in H (260 × 171 × 229 mm) and fits standard Group 24 trays and battery boxes. It is not a drop-in replacement for every lead-acid installation: check tray fit, lid clearance, terminal clearance, cable size, overcurrent protection, and charger profile before you install it.

Ultra-Lightweight: Just 21 lbs

This 21-lb (9.5 kg) lithium battery is far easier to lift and install than a comparable lead-acid battery. Reducing battery weight can improve trailer tongue weight, boat balance, and general serviceability.

Smart BMS with Low-Temp Cutoff

The built-in smart BMS lithium battery system includes 20+ safety features and low-temp cutoff lithium charge protection that blocks charging below 0°C (32°F) to help prevent cell damage. There is no internal heater, so charge only between 0°C and 55°C (32°F and 131°F).

IP54 Splash & Dust Resistance

The IP54 enclosure is dust-protected and splash-resistant for many everyday mobile, RV, marine, and outdoor installations. It is not waterproof and not designed for submersion, pressure washing, bilge flooding, or continuous water exposure.

Reliable Power & Deep Scalability

Eco Series value with real deep-cycle output and scalable lithium storage.

Connect Up to 4 in Series or 16 in Parallel

DIYers can build 24V, 36V, or 48V-class systems with up to 4 batteries in series, or increase 12V amp-hour capacity with up to 16 batteries in parallel for up to 20.48kWh.

100A Continuous Discharge (300A Peak)

The 100A continuous discharge rating supports everyday 12V loads and inverters whose DC input current stays within 100A (about 1,280W of DC input at 12.8V; usable AC output is lower). The 300A rating covers start-up surges of up to 5 seconds only; any load that lasts longer must stay at or below 100A.

4,500+ Cycles & 6-Year Manufacturer Warranty

Eco means accessible, not disposable. LiFePO4 chemistry delivers long cycle life, flat voltage output, fast charging capability, and maintenance-free operation compared with traditional lead-acid batteries.

Deep-cycle battery notice

This Eco Series model is designed for deep-cycle storage and auxiliary power. It is not a cranking battery and has no Bluetooth or internal heating. Keep continuous loads at or below 100A; 300A is a 5-second peak only. Do not charge it below 0°C (32°F). For engine starting, use a cranking-rated lithium battery or confirm compatibility directly with Epoch before installation.

Charging and installation note

Use LiFePO4-compatible charging equipment and verify fitment before installation.

Program chargers, converter chargers, inverter chargers, MPPT solar controllers, and DC-to-DC chargers within Epoch’s recommended lithium charging parameters (14.2V–14.4V bulk/absorption, up to 50A recommended, 100A maximum from all sources combined). Disable equalization and temperature compensation, and charge only between 0°C and 55°C (32°F and 131°F). Mount the battery upright unless Epoch documentation for this model allows otherwise, torque the M8 terminals to 8–12 Nm (71–106 in-lb), and install a DC-rated fuse or breaker as close as practical to the positive terminal. For series or parallel banks, use matched batteries, fully charge each one before connecting it, and use balanced wiring, properly sized cables, fuses or breakers, and system-level disconnects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Group 24 fitment, charging, Bluetooth, cold-weather protection, and system building.

Will this battery fit in my existing battery box?

In most standard Group 24 trays and boxes, yes. The Epoch 12V 100Ah Eco Series is a Group 24 drop-in measuring 10¼ in L × 6¾ in W × 9 in H (260 × 171 × 229 mm), and Epoch sells a matching battery tray for the 12105A-H and 12100-ECO. It is not a drop-in replacement for every lead-acid installation, so always verify tray dimensions, lid clearance, the hold-down, cable and terminal clearance, cable size, fuse sizing, and charger settings before installation.

Does the Eco Series have built-in heating for winter use?

No. The Eco Series does not include internal heating pads, but it does include low-temperature charge protection. The smart BMS blocks charging below 0°C (32°F) to help protect the lithium cells from damage, and the battery can still discharge power in temperatures as low as -4°F / -20°C. Charge only between 0°C and 55°C (32°F and 131°F): move a cold battery somewhere warmer and let it stabilize before charging, and never bypass the protection.

Can I connect these batteries together to build a 24V or 36V system?

Yes. The 12100-ECO supports up to 4 batteries in series for 24V, 36V, or 48V-class systems and up to 16 batteries in parallel for expanded capacity; the largest bank is 4S16P (64 batteries: 51.2V, 1,600Ah, 81.92kWh). Use matched batteries of the same model, age, capacity, and state of charge, fully charge each one before connecting it, and use charging equipment rated for the full bank voltage, fusing, disconnects, and properly sized cabling.

Can I use this battery to start my boat or vehicle engine?

No. This is a dedicated deep-cycle battery. It is engineered for prolonged, steady power in applications such as RV house systems, trolling motors, solar storage, marine electronics, and auxiliary 12V loads. It is not designed to provide the instantaneous cold-cranking amps required to start gas or diesel engines.

Do I need a special charger for this lithium battery?

Use a charger, converter, inverter charger, solar controller, or DC-to-DC charger with a dedicated LiFePO4 charge profile, such as the Epoch 12V 15A Lithium Battery Charger. Epoch lists 14.2V–14.4V bulk/absorption, ending when the current falls to C/20 (5A) or after 15 minutes, float off (preferred) or 13.3V–13.6V, 13.2V re-bulk, a 14.6V BMS high-voltage cutoff, equalization disabled, and temperature compensation disabled. Charge at up to 50A (recommended) and never more than 100A from all sources combined. Avoid lead-acid chargers with desulfation or equalization modes.

Does this battery have Bluetooth monitoring?

No. The Eco Series does not include Bluetooth or app connectivity. To track state of charge, use an external shunt-based battery monitor or a system display; voltage alone is not a precise state-of-charge reading on LiFePO4. By omitting premium features such as Bluetooth and internal heating, the Eco Series delivers safe LiFePO4 chemistry, smart BMS protection, and 4,500+ cycle life at a more accessible price point. For Bluetooth monitoring, compare Epoch Essential, Pro, or Elite Series options.

How long will this battery last compared to my old lead-acid battery?

The Epoch 12V 100Ah Eco Series is rated for 4,500+ cycles. Depending on usage, charging habits, depth of discharge, temperature, and storage conditions, this LiFePO4 battery can significantly outlast traditional lead-acid batteries while eliminating watering and acid maintenance. Routine inspections and terminal checks still apply.
