In this video we cover how to hook up your Epoch V2 Elite batteries for use with Victron systems. We go over the physical hookup as well as all settings in Victron to enable the system to operate under BMS (external) control.
Firmware V2.6/2.7 has several improvements and refinements that will improve various operational aspects. Auto shutdown on non-Victron communicating systems has been deleted. Previously if the battery detected no activity for 48 hours the battery would auto-shutdown. Relaxed battery start-up load criteria. However, it is still preferred to secure all loads prior to powering the battery on, then introduce loads. Improved Victron GX DVCC communication protocol that will result in smoother cycling through all phases of the charge cycle.
Batteries employed in non-Victron systems should utilize an absorption voltage of 14.2 volts with an absorption time of a minimum of 15 minutes per battery, 13.5 volts float voltage (x2 for 24 volt, x4 for 48 volt). Equalization off, no temperature compensation.
